His Majesty King Felipe VI awards the Sibiu International Theater Festival the Plaque of Honor of the Order of Civil Merit of Spain. The honorable distinction from His Majesty will be handed by HE José Antonio Hernández Pérez-Solórzano – the Ambassador of Spain to Romania during the XXI edition of FITS, which will take place between June 21 and 30, 2024 in Sibiu.
“The Order of Civil Merit, subordinate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, established in 1926, is awarded in recognition of special services rendered to Spain or for outstanding and beneficial collaboration to our country. By awarding the Plaque of Honor to the Sibiu International Theater Festival, Spain recognizes and thanks for the constant support given to the Spanish performing arts”is mentioned in the letter sent by HE the Ambassador of Spain to the president of FITS, Constantin Chiriac.
“We are glad that the Sibiu International Theater Festival receives this beautiful recognition from His Majesty the King of Spain and that His Excellency, Mr. Ambassador, will come especially for this event in Sibiu. In the XXXI edition of FITS, we are presenting a particularly rich Spanish Season, and we are happy about the strategic partnership with Spain. Rafaela Carrasco, Barcelona Flamenco Ballet, Yllana Musical Opera, which has had tremendous success around the world, Spanish music, aerial dance or circus from Spain, all can be found in the program of this edition. Also, two great universities from Spain will be present in Sibiu, we are presenting reading performances together with the Cervantes Institute, there will be special conferences with Rafaela Carrasco, with David Gutierrez, who leads the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet.
