I think I demonstrated in the preliminaries that the strength of the group is great and it is something special. I can't promise you anything, now I didn't even before the preliminaries. But it is certain that we will play and give everything in every match at this European. There won't be any player in the national team who has any regrets after any match. We will take it step by step, as we did before the preliminaries. Now we are thinking about the training matches, then the first match against Ukraine. It is the most important. Then I will think about Belgium, Slovakia and, God help!, let's achieve our goal, that of getting out of the groups. And then we can talk about more. For now, I don't think anyone is thinking about the quarters, we are all thinking about the match against Ukraine. I don't know what chance we have of leaving as a group. I never liked talking about such things. I know what we do, what kind of characters I have next to me every day in the training camp of the national team. And before the preliminaries it was said that we were leaving with the fourth chance, but we were not very interested in this. And I'm not interested in the value of the team or how much the opposing players are rated, I'm interested in what we do, how we prepare and be good on the 17th, before the first game“, declared Stanciu, in a press conference.

We feel quite well, we are happy to be together again. The mood is as it always has been, a very good one. We are confident, but we have these two games in front of us and we have to focus on them. And then we will have another week to prepare what awaits us in Germany. From my point of view there is no pressure. I personally don't think of any opponent I will face as a pressure match. I believe that the pressure is different, there are other people in the world with greater pressure. I think we have to enjoy football, what we have in front of us, these Europeans, to be confident. But it's just as well to be aware that there is another level and we have to raise our level as well, to show better than we did in the preliminaries. The most important thing is that we are all aware of this and work together to become the best version of ourselves.“, added the midfielder of the national team.

Regarding the training matches with Bulgaria (Tuesday, 9:30 p.m., Prima TV) and Liechtenstein (Friday, 9:00 p.m., Antena 1), Stanciu stated that the most important thing is the health of the players after these two test games.

The most important aspect of these two matches would be to come out healthy, to have no problems. But this does not mean that we will treat the matches as if they were not official. We have to raise our level, we have a week since we have been together and we have to implement what Mister asks of us and we have been working in training. We want to win, there are two matches that we treat as if they were official, for our morale and our confidence it would be good to win them. And it is equally important that we do not get injured, that we all go to Germany“, he said.

The Romanian national team meets Bulgaria and Liechtenstein at the Steaua Stadium in the capital, in the last test matches before participating in Euro 2024.

At the final tournament of the European Championship in Germany (June 14-July 14), Romania will be part of Group E, along with Ukraine, Belgium and Slovakia.
