One of his main opponents, PSD senator Gabriela Firea, owns, according to his last wealth declaration, from April 2024, a Mercedes car purchased in 2010.
According to HotNews.ro, Gabriela Firea would have been surprised, before the election campaign began, but also at certain political actions in the last month, with a premium car, a Volvo SUV, driven by a driver. According to the quoted source, the car was bought on a company owned together with his son, and after entering the race for the Capital City Hall, Firea rented a Duster. The law does not oblige candidates to enter the cars owned by the company in the asset declarations.
Piedone's passion for vintage cars
Regarding cars, the PUSL candidate for the Capital City Hall, the current mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone, is passionate about vintage cars and owns 5 cars according to his last wealth declaration, from July 2023, respectively: a Mercedes from 1996, an Oldsmobil from 1959 and three Cadillacs (from 1968, 1973 and 1974). In fact, according to a Newsweek investigation, he would have partially transferred his collection of vintage cars to his name, and most of the cars would be in the names of relatives.
Moreover, as reported by Adevărul, in 2009, Cristian Popescu Piedone was allegedly accused by the prefect of Argeş county of becoming a driver fraudulently, a month after he became an “Argeşian”, on September 27, 2007, obtaining his driving license in one day, on October 19, 2007, in no less than five categories – A, B, BE, C and CE.

Burduja's collector car
Sebastian Burduja, the PNL candidate for the City Hall of the Capital, has, according to his last wealth declaration, from July 2023, a Chrysler Cordoba car, manufactured in 1979, and another Honda CBR, manufactured in 2006.
About his collector car, Chrysler Cordoba, baptized “Candy”, Sebastian Burduja wrote in a post on his Facebook page, stating that it was bought with his money in the second year of college, in Stanford, and he wants to bequeaths it to his son.
“I found her on Craigslist, a classifieds site. It was love at first sight. It also appears on my wealth statement, an opportunity for some to say that I am a collector of rare parts…The reality is that I paid $1750 for Candy, as I christened her. It's a 1979 Chrysler Cordoba and, from 2006 to today, it's always been by my side. I've done almost 100,000 km on the roads of America and never had a major problem. The AUR candidate, Mihai Enache, has, according to his last wealth declaration from April 2023, a Skoda Octavia car, manufactured in 2017.
Alexandru Pânişoara, the candidate supported by the Romanian Environmentalist Party (PER) owns a Smart car from 2019.
The second independent is Filip Constantin Titian, according to a declaration of wealth published when he entered the race for Sector 4 in 2020, he owned two Dacia and Matiz vehicles.
And the candidate proposed by the Right Alternative Party, Dorin Iacob, who has worked in recent years as an analyst, has not filed a declaration of assets in recent years.
