The cause of death is currently unknown. Bower brought the character Marvin to life in the 1990 action film Die Hard 2.
Marvin lived in the basement of Dulles International Airport in Washington and helped John McClane, played by Bruce Willis, foil a terrorist plot.
In addition, the actor also gave life to the character of Dr. Curtis Willard in the series “The Waltons” from 1975-1978. He originally portrayed pilot Rex Barker in the season four episode “The Wing Walker”. The next season he landed the role of Curtis, the man who hires Mary Ellen Walton (Judy Norton) as a nurse before the two fall in love and start a family.
His character was killed in 1978 during the attack on Pearl Harbor – but in 1981 Curt reappeared in Florida, this time played by Scott Hylands.
“I asked for a very small raise, so they sent me to Pearl Harbor“, said the actor in an interview given in 2022.
Born January 3, 1938, Tom Bower wanted to become a professional baseball player, but after realizing he lacked the athletic ability, he moved to New York to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts .
