Winner of five Grammy Awards, one of the most beloved international stars, Celine Dion, 55 years old, was diagnosed in 2022 with rigid person syndrome. This was the reason why he canceled since last year all the more than 40 live music concerts he had in Europe until the end of spring this year.
In her first TV interview since learning the painful diagnosis, with NBC News' Hoda Kotb, Dion recounted how much the disease has affected her — from muscle spasms so severe they fractured her ribs, to to the feeling of strangulation.

“I also had broken ribs at one point…”the Canadian singer admitted, and about the muscle spasms in her neck she mentioned that she felt them as if “someone would strangle you, as if pressing on your larynx”.
And unfortunately, they were not the only symptoms suffered. He talked about cramps in the abdominal area, the spine and even in the hands: “The fingers remain in a position from which you can no longer unlock them“.
She had previously said that the condition also made it difficult for her to walk and that it did not allow her to use her vocal cords to sing as she was used to.
In April, he also gave an interview, but for Vogue France, on which occasion he said that he follows physical and vocal therapy five times a week. And she also talked about the feelings of despair that often come over her, but also mentioned that she is trying to rebuild her singing career.

I have this disease for an unknown reason, and as I see it, I have only two options: either I train like an athlete and work hard, or I stop and it's over: I stay at home, listen to my songs, sit in front of my mirror and sing for me! I chose to work with all my heart and soul, with the help of a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. I dream of seeing the Eiffel Tower again! … I have this power in me! I know nothing will stop me!”the Canadian singer also confessed.
