Connect-R (42 years old), one of the most popular artists in Romania, recently made emotional revelations about his past and his parents, whom he idolizes. Although he comes from a poor family, the artist has never forgotten where he came from.
In a recent interview, Connect-R spoke openly about his parents, Aurel and Rodica Mihalache, and the profound impact they had on his life.
“The mother is pragmatism incarnate. He is the mathematician in the house, the man who knew our order, everyone’s, including dad’s. Dad, if mom was the number, dad is the color. Dad is the main character in *La vita è bella*. Dad is a child and has remained so all his life. I thank him that he was and remained that way, even with the things that my mother reproached him with all his life, this immaturity. If it wasn’t for him, we didn’t know it was all a game in the end and we didn’t enjoy it so much.” he said in a podcast hosted by Mihai Bobonete.

The artist confessed that his family always lived in poverty, but this did not diminish his love and respect for his parents.
“My mother still goes to sell at the stall. That’s what she likes. Now dad asked me to find him a contract in a restaurant, where he can go and sing“, Connect-R revealed on the DA Bravo! podcast.

“I thought people who had food every day were the happiest”
Connect-R also remembered the hard days of his childhood, when his family had nothing to put on the table.
“When I was bitter, I thought that people who had food every day were the happiest. I grew up and said: ‘ready, sir, I know, happiness is when you can afford a lot of designer clothes.’ When I started making money from the first concerts, I realized that happiness is the moment when you turn the key in the door of the first apartment. With the money collected from the concerts and a bank loan, I managed to buy an apartment in Giulesti. 3 rooms, ground floor. What are you talking about, Franz! That’s it, happiness on me!“, he told on social networks, according to Click.ro.
Although Connect-R is now enjoying fame and success, it remains deeply connected to its roots and the parents who supported it unconditionally.
