Despite the enthusiasm of the young audience, the presence of the British Andrew Tate on the stage Beach, Please! triggered a wave of comments against the organizers and the urban music festival that took place these days in Costineşti.

On his Instagram page, Selly, as the coordinator of this event, wanted to make some clarifications and explain how Andrew Tate, tried for rape and human trafficking in Romania, came to present, on stage, the famous hip-hop artist French Montana.
“You know how it is, it’s the last night of the festival and all kinds of people show up trying to discredit what we’re doing here. Related to the presence of Andrew Tate, this controversial character, on stage with French Montana. One in hand, we didn’t know it was going to be there, because we never ask for a nominal list of guests that an artist has on stage. We don’t ask, because it’s none of our business. We provide a platform, a stage where the artist comes and expresses himself freely”, Selly posted in an Instagram story.
According to his post, the organizers do not take responsibility for what happens on stage, nor for the messages sent by the artists.
“What the artist does on stage does not mean that I, as an organizer, approve. The statement made by the artist on stage does not mean that it is my position as an organizer. If an artist says on stage that it is ok to use drugs or that it is ok to traffic in people or calls a person investigated in such a case, who is under criminal investigation, this does not mean that I, as an organizer, support this matter”, he wrote.
At the same time, Selly admits that some of the messages sent by some guests at the festival are wrong, but he did not indicate a specific moment or artist.
“If you ask me what my position is, Selly, as an individual, I am aware that some of the messages that are being sent on the festival stage are wrong, in my opinion,” he also said.
Then he tried to win back the goodwill of public opinion by mentioning the good things he does for society, such as an anti-drug campaign.
“That’s why I do certain things, as it were the anti-drug campaign, to try to balance the situation a bit, to try to say that what happens on stage is an artistic act over which I have no control. I can do a campaign to discourage you from consuming things you don’t know what’s in them.” Selly added in his post..
We remind you that, at the beginning of the well-known American rapper French Montana’s recital, he invited on stage the controversial Andrew Tate, one of the two brothers tried for rape and human trafficking in Romania, but still at large. Despite the accusations against him, he was greeted by the audience at “Beach, Please!” with applause and ovations, which made the rapper exclaim: “Romania loves you, brother!”. Then a Florin Salam mane was heard from the speakers…
