No less than 3,446 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the last week in Romania, which represents a 71% increase compared to the previous week, INSP reports.

1,082 of the new cases in the last week are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection/another re-infection.
9 deaths caused by COVID-19 have been reported: 8 new deaths, one death occurred more than a week ago, all people presenting comorbidities.
“900 RT-PCR tests and 8,920 rapid antigen tests were performed, 32.9% more than in the previous week. The positivity rate was 27%, up by 6%“, according to INSP.
To date, on the territory of Romania: 3,539,775 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered. 68,982 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection died.
14,021,070 RT-PCR tests and 14,872,346 rapid antigen tests were processed.
