With the 200m freestyle gold medal in his pocket, David Popovici (19, CS Dinamo) unshackled himself and returned to the pool this morning with a lot of pressure lifted off his shoulders for the 100m freestyle .

What was seen in the series, when the Romanian qualified, detached, without forcing, with the 3rd best time: 47 seconds, 92 hundredths.
This evening, the semi-finals of the event followed. David did well in the series he was part of, the last one, finishing second with a time of 47 seconds, 66 hundredths behind China’s Pan Zhanle (47 seconds, 21 hundredths). Overall, however, Popovici went into the semifinals with the 5th best time of the event, as can be seen below:

The final of the 100-meter freestyle event is scheduled for Wednesday evening, after 11:15 p.m. (TVR, Eurosport, Max platform).
