The Italian newspaper La Repubblica presented the list of the best hotels in the world. All 50 hotels in this ranking stand out for their elegance and luxury, and the second place is occupied by one from Europe, namely the five-star Passalacqua Hotel on Lake Como.

The full list of hotels included in the ranking was presented at an event held in London. Out of all 50, a hotel in Asia takes first place. It’s about the Capella Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, which opened its doors to tourists four years ago. Those who want to visit Bali, Hanoi, Sydney, Taipei or Singapore should know that they can enjoy the beauty of this hotel chain.

In addition, the five-star Hotel Passalacqua is unique, considering that it is housed in an 18th-century villa and was owned by the Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini. Napoleon Bonaparte, the Emperor of France, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill passed the threshold of this villa.

The villa has 24 rooms, but all are furnished differently.
