Oţelul Galati finished in a tie with Craiova University, 1-1 (1-1), on Saturday evening, in a match from the 12th stage of the football Superleague.

The hosts opened the scoring quickly, through the Bosnian Stipe Juric (4), who scored spectacularly with his heel, after the Portuguese Frederic Maciel’s cross. The university equalized relatively quickly, through Ştefan Baiaram (14), after a ball sent behind by the Croatian Juraj Badelj, following a corner.
The Galatians also had a bar, with Miguel Silva’s shot (34), but nothing notable happened until the end, so the Oltanians remain in 2nd place in the Superliga, followed by Oţelul, the only undefeated team this season.
Costel Gâlcă admits that Oțelul deserved to win
The University coach, Costel Gâlcă, declared at the end:
“After today’s match, we won a point, but if there was to be a winning team, it had to be Oțelul. The break is welcome (no for Romania’s matches in the League of Nations)many players are leaving for the national team and I hope they all come healthy”.
On the other hand, Dorinel Munteanu declared himself dissatisfied: “I’m definitely not happy with this point. We lost two points, even though we had a very dangerous opponent, a team with a budget, with claims. Our team was clearly better, the chances belonged to us, they didn’t give us any problems. We played a very good game today, an aggressive game, we didn’t let them move. We lost two important points, but we are moving forward. I’m not happy with the draw, but I have to thank the boys for doing everything to win the game.”
The University has only one victory in the last six stages, three draws and two failures, while the team from Golața equaled Rapidul in terms of matches ended in a draw: 7 each. The last four matches of the team coached by Dorinel Munteanu ended in a draw.
