According to npr.com, after a six-year absence from the catwalk, Victoria’s Secret organized a grandiose new show on October 15 in New York, which gathered the biggest names in the fashion industry.

The event gathered the biggest names in the industry, from the iconic Tyra Banks and Kate Moss, to the new generations represented by the Hadid sisters. And Romania was successfully represented by Andreea Diaconu.

Between 1995 and 2018, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was one of the most watched events in the world. However, due to growing criticism regarding the lack of inclusiveness and promoted beauty standards, the show was canceled in 2019.

The show was a true musical celebration, with an all-female cast. K-Pop star LISA, South African singer Tyla and, to finish on a high note, pop legend Cher took to the stage with her iconic hits “Strong Enough” and “Believe”.

The evening was also special in that it marked the debut on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk for iconic models such as the British supermodel Kate Moss, the former first lady of France Carla Bruni and the representative of Romania, Andreea Diaconu.

Born in Bucharest, Andreea Diaconu, now 33 years old and settled in New York, started her modeling career at the tender age of 13. Over time, she became the face of iconic fragrances such as Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb and Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist. At only 14 years old, the young Romanian impressed at Milan Fashion Week, parading for Dolce & Gabbana.
