The railway traffic was affected by the unfavorable weather conditions recorded in the area of ​​the counties under the yellow and orange code of strong wind, rain and blizzard snow.

Several problems were registered on the Iași and Braşov CF Regional Branch, informs the National Railway Company “CFR” SA.

The intervention teams operate in the field on railway sections within the Iasi and Brasov regional radius to remedy the disturbances recorded in the electricity supply system, where there is no voltage in the contact wire, due to the trees fallen on the railway“, it is stated in a statement issued by CFR SA.

It is snowing heavily on the SRCF Braşov line, and in the Ditrău – Gălăuţaş section it was accidentally de-energized, between 18:00 and 19:54, for the removal of a fallen tree on the contact line.

“It was affected the movement of three passenger trains (R 4511, 4512 and IR 1645), which are stationed in the adjacent stations until the disturbance is rectified and the contact line is re-energized“, say the company’s representatives.

Due to the unfavorable weather conditions (heavy snow, blizzard and freezing rain), in the mountainous area of ​​Suceava county, on the Câmpulung Moldovenesc – Vatra Dornei – Ilva Mică section, numerous fallen trees were recorded in the gauge of the CF line. It intervened with pantograph dredgers and specialized personnel on the railway sections on the regional range of Iaşi, Pojorâta – Mestecăniş, Ilva Mică – Măgura, Grădiniţa – Larion to remedy the disturbances recorded in the electricity supply system, where there was no voltage in the wire of contact“, the statement also states.

It operates with pantograph dredgers and specialized personnel on the distance Pojorâta – Coşna – Ilva Mare.

In order to maintain the continuity of rail passenger transport, SRCF Iaşi will ensure for trains transiting the area, transshipment with vehicles on the distance Vatra Dornei – Salva“, say the representatives of the company.

In the event that changes to the timetable are necessary, all railway passenger transport operators are notified, so that they can publish on their websites updated information about the trains included in the timetable. The railway teams carry out permanent checks on all the railway sections within the counties under the influence of the two unfavorable weather codes, and on the segments where the situation requires it, operative intervention will be carried out with personnel and equipment“, the statement also states.
