Gabriel Petru Vlase, who runs the Foreign Intelligence Service (SIE) for six years, said important amounts of money in the six accounts, in lei and euros, held with his wife. Vlase’s financial situation has improved significantly from 2023, previously not having declared house, land or car.

Gabriel Petru Vlase, about whom information appeared that on December 8, in full Security crisis, was at the Abu Dhabi, at the Grand Formula 1 prize, is at the SIE leadership of July 2018. He was previously PSD (from 2004), and during the period 2001-2004 he was sub-prefect of Bacău. According to the CV, he started his professional activity as an administrator of SC Saga Trans Company, but does not specify the year.
Suprefect, deputy, director of the SIE, all on the PSD chain
The SIE chief is 53 years old, and in 1996 he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest. In 2000 he held the first political position, that of a local PSD counselor in Bacău. He was vice president of the PSD youth organization and executive president within the PSD Bacău County Organization. At 31 he was appointed sub-prefect of Bacău county, a position he held until 2004, when he left for the Romanian Parliament, as a deputy.
Since then, since 2004, he has graduated after the course. Only in that year, according to the CV, he obtained two diplomas: one at the National Defense College and another – “MBA at” Al.I. Cuza “from Iași”. In 2004-2005 he attended a training course for senior officials at the National Institute of Administration. In 2005 he enrolled in the Faculty of Law, “Dimitrie Cantemir” University – Bucharest. In 2006, the Superior College of National Security – The Romanian Intelligence Service appears, in the same year participating in a seminar for top officials with the European Marshall Studies in Garmisch, Germany, and graduating the National Defense College.
In 2007 he concluded a master’s degree in “European Economic Policy” at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies, and in 2006-2007 he attended a postgraduate course at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the “Danube de Jos” University, Galați, specialization “Management communication and public relations ”; Also in 2007 he attended postgraduate training courses at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and a training course in “Analyzing and resolving armed conflicts” “With Georgetown University, the United States in collaboration with the National Defense College”. In the same year he enrolled in the doctorate at the National Academy of Information.
Throughout this period, as a deputy, he has progressively approaching the activity of services. He was a member, between 2004-2008, of the Defense Committee, Public Order and National Safety and Vice-President, so that in 2008 (until 2012) he became chairman of the Special Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate for the exercise of parliamentary control over the SIE activity. . In the next term of parliamentarian he was the head of the delegation of the Parliament of Romania at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and from February 2017 until the appointment as SIE director (in April 2018) he was vice -president of the Chamber of Deputies.
How did the house, land and car appear
In the declaration of wealth filed in 2018, Gabriel Vlase had no land, he had no house and neither car, nor his wife, Raluca Miriam. Instead, he had declared jewelry worth 25,000 euros obtained between 1990-2006, 65% of the shares of a company (sharing almost 50,000 lei) and another company in which he owned 100% of the shares (worth 76,291). The same mentions regarding the two companies (with the distinction that the names of companies are mentioned in the last statements: General Investica and Gabrio Business) are also found in the last declaration of wealth, filed in June 2024.
Also in 2018, the new, then, the head of the SIE declared that it granted three loans: one of 26,700 lei, one of 176,913 lei and the third – of 143,000 euros. He had debts at the same time: of 45,000 euros to a person (in 2018 he did not declare the maturity or the name of the one who borrowed, instead in the last three statements this loan appears to be from Vlase Constantin and has the maturity in 2030) ; 25,000 lei to another person (Doraș Claudiu, a loan with maturity 2030, according to the last statement). In the 2018 statement, two other loans appeared to be paid: one of 32,000 lei (due in 2020) and another of 32,800 lei (due 2022).
The revenues declared in the 2018 statement related to the previous year also included those in the parliamentary allowance – of 146,338 lei – and those of the wife, Vlase Raluca Miriam (head of the Museum of Natural Sciences “Ion Borcea” Bacău), of 35,785 lei.
Starting with the 2023 statement, things change almost radically. In Gabriel Vlase’s statement: a dwelling of 180 square meters, built in 2023, belonging to the current wife, Vlase Georgiana Stefania; an urban area of 88.28 square meters, bought in 2023 also by Vlase Georgiana Stefania; an agricultural land of 801 square meters, inherited by his wife (1/5). The car also belongs to the car, Toyota CHR, year of manufacture 2019.
Vlase also declares in 2024 jewelry of 7,000 euros (from 2021-2024) and significant amounts of money, in six accounts, of his wife, respectively over 363,000 lei and over 44,500 euros.
They appear, as in the 2018 statement, the actions at the two aforementioned companies, a loan granted in personal name, of 199,651.57 RON, to Gabrio Business, debts to Vlase Constantin (45,000 euros) and Claudiu Doroș (25,000 lei) and The revenues from the professional activity obtained by him and his wife: 168,236 lei obtained from the position of director of SIE by Gabriel Vlase, respectively 78,708 lei – representing the balance collected by the wife from the Ministry of National Defense in the previous year.
In the 2023 declaration were mentioned wedding gifts of 150,000 lei and 160,000 euros, declared by the wife, but also the doctoral scholarship, of 18,600 lei, also on the wife’s account.
Beyond the official CV
In the CV of Gabriel Vlase, about the period prior to 2001, when he becomes a sub-prefect of Bacău county, there is only the mention that he was an administrator at SC Saga Trans Company. His propeling in this position does not seem at all mysterious for those who know his family, according to information in the public space.
Gabriel Vlase’s father, says Valeriu Nicolae, in an episode in the state of the impostors who is dedicated to the head of SIE (see video), has led for over 40 years a folkloric ensemble with which he had repeated exits abroad, in communism. However, for those who lived those times it is obvious that it could not be out of the country anyway and that, says Valeriu Nicolae, “the probability that Mr. Petre Vlase has not been related to the Security is close to zero.” Petre Vlase was friends with Viorel Hrebenciuc, and Viorel Hrebenciuc played an important role in the PSD. It is associated with Liviu Cladiu Doroș, the son of the chief of SRI Bacău, Vasile Doroș.
