TripAdvisor, the world’s leading travel guide, has launched the first category of the much-anticipated Travelers’ Choice® 2025 Awards: “The best destinations in the world” – “Best of the Best Destinations”.

Each year, TripAdvisor analyzes millions of reviews shared by a global community of travelers to identify the most trusted recommendations. These awards help future explorers create unforgettable memories on their next adventures.
The Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations awards cover seven distinct categories: Top Destinations, Trending Destinations, Cultural Destinations, Gastronomic Destinations, Honeymoon Destinations.
This year, TripAdvisor introduced two new subcategories: Destinations for Solo Travel and a special category, dedicated to the platform’s 25th anniversary, “The Best Destinations of the Last 25 Years”based on all reviews in history.
Thus, London was designated not only “The best destination in the world”but also “The Top Destination of the Last 25 Years of Reviews.”

The Travelers’ Choice Awards, based on more than 1 billion reviews and opinions available on the platform, reflect the preferences of the global travel community – from the destinations themselves to all the elements that make them special, including restaurants, hotels and special experiences . The rankings highlight the places that have captured the hearts of tourists, based on authentic experiences.
“In its 25 years of existence, Tripadvisor has become the leading global travel guide platform, providing valuable insights from travelers around the world. The “Best of the Best” title of the Travelers’ Choice Awards celebrates the highest level of excellence in tourism. Awarded to destinations that receive a high number of exceptional reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period (and beyond – ed.). Of the 8 million locations listed on the site, less than 1% achieve this status”TripAdvisor representatives pointed out.
In today’s edition, we will focus on the first of the categories: “Top Destinations”to introduce you to the world’s great attractions that have captured the hearts of travelers. Each destination in this ranking reflects the reviews and opinions of millions of explorers, serving as landmarks for memorable adventures. From breathtaking landscapes and fascinating culture, to unique gastronomy and authentic experiences, these destinations have been chosen to inspire and delight.
Here is what the top of the world’s best destinations in 2025 looks like, according to tourists’ preferences. It should be noted that half of this top consists of European destinations.

London dominates the global ranking, in the USA the first place is occupied by New York
This year, London climbed two places and was named the best destination in the world, taking over the title from Dubai, which has held the top spot since 2022. The capital of the United Kingdom impresses both with its diverse culinary offer and its wealth of art and cultural heritage, being ranked second in the category “The best gastronomic destinations” and third in “Cultural Destinations”.
At the same time, London was recognized as the first in the anniversary list dedicated to the 25 years of Tripadvisor’s existence, being named the most appreciated destination of the last two and a half decades.
Although in “Top 10 Best Destinations in the World” no locations in the Americas are listed, Tripadvisor has compiled a separate ranking for the US. In this list, New York occupies the first place and is also included in the list of the best culinary destinations in the country. Other popular destinations in the United States include sunny locations such as O’ahu and the Florida Keys, dynamic cities such as Chicago and Las Vegas (the ranking was designed before the fire of apocalyptic proportions), but also renowned cultural centers such as New Orleans and Washington AD
