Armed attack in Sweden
Several purses were shot on Tuesday in an armed attack on a Swedish educational unit. The shootings took place in Orebro, about 200 km west of Stockholm, at the Risbergska Adult Training Center, located in a campus that also hosts schools for children, reports Reuters.
The police held a second press conference following the attack, announcing that the provisional balance indicates “About ten people killed”while the number of wounded remains unclear. The authorities said that the process of identifying the victims is still in progress, which is why the figures are estimated.
According to officials, the main suspect was captured. The man had no history of violence and was not known as a member of any criminal band. “We have no reason to believe that the attack was of a terrorist nature.”said the chief of the police in Orebro.
Also, the authorities have previously confirmed that there are no children among the victims, despite the fact that the attack took place in an area that included a school.
No police officer was injured in shot, the Swedish police said.
Sweden is facing a wave of armed attacks and bomb attacks that have arisen from an endemic problem of gang crime, although deadly attacks are rare.
