Daniel David announces the reintroduction, after more than 20 years, of disciplines such as the history of Romanians, who would contribute directly to the national culture.
“I asked all the disciplines (specialists who deal with them) to think about new models, not only number of hours, in the current form things do not function well, given that the school produces too much functional illiteracy for the 21st century.
It really can’t be that way! And professional teachers and organizations have begun to understand this. For example, after more than 20 years of lack, we will restore that discipline names that contribute directly to the national culture (the history of Romanians), to give a clear signal that a modern world cannot exist without national identity, and the grammar will return , also in high school; As I said when launching the framework plans, too many children do not know their national history or geography correctly and speak Romanian “, the minister said on his blog.
In his opinion, the exercise of debate on the framework plans is also a “educational” one.
According to the minister, the ventilation of the curriculum must then be done at the programs level.
“Thus we started to understand the philosophy of these framework plans, namely not to “remove” disciplines/hours to simply reduce the students, but to reduce centralism (the obligatory character) through some decentralizations at the school level and at the level of the students’ decision. (optional character). (…) It remains to be seen how decentralizing, in this form, some considering that it is too much, others are too little.

He said that he wants the Frame-Frame-Frames to be accepted to modernize the Romanian education. The framework plans for the high school were put in public consultation on January 31.
