The ANPC inspectors carried out a new operative control on Thursday in a mall in Sector 4 of the Capital, verifying the compliance with the legislation by the economic operators in the field of public food. Following the checks, the activity of several fast food restaurants and a hypermarket has been temporarily suspended.
As in previous controls, serious irregularities have been identified that endanger the safety and health of consumers. The economic operators who did not immediately remedy the deficiencies were sanctioned by suspending the activity until they are remedied.
Similar actions were also performed in previous days at fast food restaurants and hypermarkets in two other malls in Bucharest.
On Tuesday, February 18, the National Authority for Consumer Protection, headed by Cristian Popescu Piedone, carried out a series of controls, after which 16 economic operators, including Carrefour, Starbucks, Mesopotamia and KFC, were sanctioned by the temporary suspension of the activity. During a control carried out in the Baneasa shopping center, ANPC inspectors checked 45 economic operators in the public food sector, finding numerous non -conformities.
