Just one day after the Bucharest Court of Appeal established that the USR is not allowed to support Nicușor Dan, the National Political Bureau, met on Friday, voted against financing the campaign of Elena Lasconi, which would be removed from the head after the first round of the presidential elections.

The tensions inside the USR continue to intensify, after the party leadership decided to ignore a court decision regarding the presidential candidate, Elena Lasconi.
After Thursday evening the Bucharest Court of Appeal established that the party must support the campaign of its candidate for the presidential elections, that is, that of Elena Lasconi, and not of the independent candidate Nicuşor Dan, on Friday, April 18, a meeting of the National Political Bureau of the USR was convened.
Thus, within the National Political Bureau – coordinated by Dominic Fritz and Radu Mihaiu – challenging the court decision issued one night ago, USR leaders decided not to allocate them for election campaign, according to sources from within the party, quoted by the thought.
Moreover, Ionuț Moșteanu – the one who brought the current president of the party in the USR five years ago – would propose that he would resort to personal loans to support his independent campaign, not on behalf of the formation.
On the same day, the management of the Party’s National Political Bureau convened a political committee for May 5, immediately after the first round of the presidential elections. Purpose: to organize a national congress in which, by vote, if Elena Lasconi will be decided from the USR leadership.
We remind you that on Thursday, April 17, the Bucharest Court of Appeal annulled a series of decisions adopted by the USR National Bureau, through which Elena Lasconi was withdrawn and was blocked access to the campaign funds. Thus, Lasconi remains the president of the party and the official candidate of the USR at the presidential elections.
As the “truth” will already be informed, immediately after this decision, the president of the USR, Elena Lasconi, confessed that, although it seemed that the party supported it, in reality it did not receive real support in the campaign.
