The Brazilian police announced on Sunday, May 4, 2025, that it had a bomb attack planned at the historical concert held by Lady Gaga, which attracted over 2 million people on the Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night.

The Civil Police of the state of Rio de Janeiro, who works in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, said that the plot was orchestrated by a group that promotes the instigator speech and radicalization of adolescents, including self -visible and violent contents as a form of social belonging, Reuters said.
“Suspects recruited participants, including minors, to perform coordinated attacks using improvised explosives and Molotov cocktails”the police said in a statement.
The Ministry of Justice said that recruiters identified themselves as members of Gaga’s global fans, known as “Little Monsters”.
According to the quoted source, the operation was based on a report prepared by the Ministry’s cyber operations laboratory, following a tip received from the Rio State Police Intelligence services, which discovered digital cells that encouraged violent behaviors among adolescents, using an extremist codified and symbolic language.
Two people were arrested. A man described as the leader of the group was arrested in the state of Rio Grande Do Sul, located in the south of Brazil, for illegal possession of firearms, while a teenager from Rio de Janeiro was detained for storage of child pornography.
