With a few hundred fans dressed in yellow and loudly, the Romanians kept the opponents much better rated during the first half. Our boys defended exactly and had a few bargains on the counterattack, with Louis Munteanu, Gramen and Ianis Stoica in the foreground. And even if they received a goal in the middle of the first part of the game, the tricolors did not give up, having the chance to equalize in the extension minutes. However, Munteanu executed a penalty granted at the Var indications and the score remained 0-1.

I didn’t play anything in the second half

Everything has been for the national of Romania, who failed to shake his head after the break. Italy dominated, even though it did not force, during our “sleeves” they did not approach the dangerous gate, except for the last minute of the match, when Zoran Mitrov’s lobe went next to.

It ended 1-0 for Italy, favorite in qualifying in the upper stages with Spain (3-2 with Slovakia). Daniel Pancu’s tricolors have an impossible new match, against the Iberians, on Saturday, from 7 pm, a match that can send us home after only two matches played at Euro 2025 U21.

The best result of Romania in the four participation so far at the European Youth Championship (1998, 2019, 2021, 2023) registered in 2019, when it reached the semifinals phase, also succeeding in the qualification at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. At the last EURO U21 edition, organized by Romania together with Georgia, the national team, Spain, Ukraine and Croatia were also part, with only an1 point.
