“The end of the road for Deputy Prime Minister Anastasiu.

A deputy prime minister who for 8 years commits an offense in a continuous state can no longer continue in the Government of Romania. Point”, wrote the PSD senator on Thursday evening, July 24, on social networks.

The statement comes after information appeared in the public space that Dragoș Anastasiu, Deputy Prime Minister and Business Man, would have offered, between 2009 and 2017, undue benefits to ANAF Angela Burlacu, consisting of holidays paid by Touring Europabus Romania SRL, owned by Anastasiu.

According to investigators, Angela Burlacu received, directly or indirectly, tourist services worth over 784,000 lei, in exchange for favoring the company during tax controls.

The facts were confirmed in court, and Angela Burlacu was definitively sentenced, in 2023, to 5 years and 2 months in prison, the punishment being reduced from 8 years.

Anastasiu escaped the criminal prosecution after making a DNA denunciation against the former ANAF inspector, collaborating with the investigators.
