The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, said, regarding the case of the patient admitted to the Floreasca Hospital with very serious burns and which demanded the lack of analgesics, but also the presence of bacteria and cockroaches near the bed, that there were analgesics for all patients admitted to the medical unit. The fact that they were not properly administered is of common sense and professional deontology, says the minister.

“I went to Floreasca to have a discussion with the management of the sanitary unit, on the one hand, but also with the representatives of the medical teams involved in the activity of the Center of Arşi. It is true that I went with all the technical data to me because the State Sanitary Inspection was sent from last week, since I had the first case. Poiană, with the representative of the College of Physicians in Romania, who started an investigation, practically the third control in this situation, to verify the medical, therapeutic behavior ”said the Minister of Health on Tuesday evening at Digi 24.
He said that at Floreasca Hospital there are analgesics for all patients and there were no discontinuities in supply.
“When I read that letter, I tell you honestly I stood. I could not believe that, in 2025, a patient in a university center screams. We will check these things. I asked for the situation. Initially, the patient was told that there are no analgesics. Completely. Patients from Floreasca Hospital were not discontinuities.explained Alexandru Rogobete.
Asked if the coordinator of the Center for Arms at Floreasca Hospital is still on leave, the Minister of Health replied: “You realize how much price he put on this situation. It is true that he had a leave last week or two weeks ago, I do not want to make a mistake, because he had a family death, as far as I understood from the management of the health unit. I am sorry, condolences, but With the outbreak of this scandal, I understood that he extended his leave during this critical period for the hospital and for the section he coordinates. (…) I expected to find him at the hospital today. Today’s visit has been announced. I announced yesterday that today I am going to the hospital today, I asked them to prepare all the necessary documents to be able to stay at the discussion table, to identify the problems and to find solutions. I did not expect to not find the coordinator of the Center for Arms there ”.
Rogobete said that he publicly suggested to the coordinator of the Floreasca Arşi Center to resign.
Deratization and disinsection company, fined
He added that the State Health Inspection applied fines to the deratization and disinsection company because certain administrative irregularities were found.
The Minister of Health also stated that the cockroaches were not in the Arşi section, but in a salon on the same floor.
“The cockroaches were not in the Arşi section, they were in a post-operative salon. It is true that on the same floor as the Arşi section. It is not a justification, not to be misunderstood. This time they were not in that salon or in the unity of burning burns.”added the Minister of Health.
He stressed that over 200 patients with serious burns were treated at Floreasca Hospital, and 80% of them left home.
“But I still feel obliged to give an explanation. We cannot ignore the fact that in 2024 or from 2024 and so far in Floreasca Hospital, over 200 patients with serious burns have been treated, of which 80% have left home. Mortality of less than 20%, is 16-17% for a serious burning center, at the moment it is below the European average.”the Minister of Health said.
He was asked when the decisions will come from the controls made at Floreasca Hospital.
“The decisions were made much of them before having the final results of the controls because I saw the stages of the controls. The decisions are the following: I will modify the order of minister regulating the functioning of the burns, I will adapt much better to the reality.”, Said Minister Rogobete.
A woman was admitted 53 days in the hospital, after the plant in the family’s home exploded. During this time, he contracted several bacteria, cried in pain, suffered multiple operations, while the cockroaches were moving through the salon, a few meters from the patient’s bed considered critical.
The patient’s sister, who donated the skin for her operations, told the whole situation repeatedly on Facebook, in one of them claiming the lack of hygiene and attaching photos of cockroaches, caught close to the bed of the patient who had critical burns. His sister suffered burns after the power plant exploded, and the woman entered the house to save her two young children.
Later, the woman told her that her sister contracted multiple bacteria during hospitalization, the diagnosis being confirmed by the doctors in Belgium, where she managed to finally transfer her sister.
