The Minister of Health was asked on Tuesday evening, at Digi 24, what happens to the patients who are present at the Emergency Reception Units and have no medical insurance and have never had, writes News.
“If a man presents himself in the service of emergency medicine with or without insurance and represents an emergency, I feel obliged to give him first aid and solve his problem from a medical point of view, whether or not he has insurance.”said Alexandru Rogobete.
Asked if such patients consume resources, the Minister of Health replied: “Any patient consumes resources, any medical service costs, There is no patient who does not consume Resources, but our role is to balance things and to have a balanced attitude. Rogobete added that a solution would be the development of private health insurance.
“Another measure would be to develop private health insurance in Romania because they now do not exist, practically, the percentage is very small, not because people would not want to ensure and complementary in a private system, but because they have nowhere to go with them. Which is why next week, if I do not make a mistake, I will have a meeting with the insurers, which I will have to do with it.
