A recent holiday, spent at the end of July 2025, told in one of the most active Facebook groups dedicated to Greece, offers not only a sincere guide, but also an additional reason to make your luggage.
The chosen route: Without incident, with “friendly” customs
For those leaving the south of the country, the classical route Giurgiu – Veliko Târnovo – Makaza – Keramoti remains the favorite of the travelers. The roads were fluid, without major incidents or expectations at the border – good news for those who want to avoid the hours lost in customs. However, Romanian tourists draw attention to the presence of numerous radar chambers on the territory of Bulgaria.
Crossing with the Keramoti ferry to Thassos Island has been described as “The moment when the holiday starts truly”: a ritual of transition from daily agitation to Mediterranean tranquility.
