Grindeanu, “private discussions” with the president Nicușor Dan. The decision on the project regarding magistrates’ pensions, in today’s coalition meeting

The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that he had a discussion with the president Nicușor Dan on Tuesday, November 28, but refused to make public the topics discussed with him. PSD has validated the candidacy of Daniel Băluță for the Capital City Hall and is going to the coalition meeting on Tuesday, November 28, with the proposal to form the working group for the project of pensions for magistrates.

Sorin Grindeanu announced on Tuesday, November 28, after the meeting in which Daniel Băluță’s candidacy for the Capital City Hall elections was validated, that he had a discussion with President Nicușor Dan, but refused to provide details regarding the topics discussed: “There are things that, some of them remain, let’s say, until there is a decision that they can be made public, private discussions.”

Instead, he explained the status of the discussions for a new project regarding the modification of the retirement conditions of the magistrates, showing that, following the discussions with the Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, it was decided that the decision should be taken in the 14.00 meeting of the coalition.

“The president is a mediator. It is a quality that he exercised including at this moment”

The party validated in a meeting of the National Political Council, in a hybrid format, the candidacy of the sector mayor, Daniel Băluță, in the elections for the Capital City Hall.

Asked if he thinks that Nicușor Dan will represent an obstacle in the upcoming election campaign, Daniel Băluță answered: “I am convinced that the President of Romania will not be an obstacle for any of the candidates for Bucharest City Hall. The president is a mediator in society. It is a quality that he exercised including at this moment. So no, I don’t believe this”.

Recent polls place the mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, in first place in terms of voting intention, followed by three other candidates with chances: Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), Cătălin Drula (USR) and Anca Alexandrescu (independent).
