The period for submitting candidacies for the December 7 partial elections begins on Tuesday, when candidates interested in all localities can register their files, except for those aiming for the office of general mayor of the Capital and those who want to become president of the Buzau County Council.

According to Government Decision no. 891/2025 for the approval of the calendar of actions within the electoral period of the partial local elections from December 7, 2025, from Tuesday, candidates can be submitted for the position of mayor in most of the constituencies where partial elections are organized, News writes.
Thus, the period for submitting candidacies begins in the electoral constituencies: Remetea commune, Bihor county; Mihai Eminescu commune, Botoşani county; Marga commune, Caraş-Severin county; Dobromir commune, Constanţa county; Lumina commune, Constanţa county; Găesti city, Dâmboviţa county; Sopot commune, Dolj county; Valea Ciorii commune, Ialomiţa county; Vânători commune, Iasi county; Poienile de sub Munte commune, Maramureş county; Şieu commune, Maramures county; Cârţa commune, Sibiu county.
For the position of president of the Buzău County Council and for that of general mayor of the Capital, candidacies can only be submitted from Wednesday.
According to the calendar established by the Government, November 17, 2025 is the end of the submission period for all candidatures, which must remain definitive until November 23.
The electoral campaign will start on November 22, and the printing of ballots is scheduled for December 2.
The electoral campaign ends on December 6, and the elections will take place on December 7.
