Zalando, an e-commerce company specializing in the sale of fashion, footwear and beauty products, has become a partner of the German Football Association. Founded in 2008, the Berlin-based company will work with national teams until 2030.
Zalando today announced the start of a five-year partnership with the DFB. The deal will see the company partner with Germany’s men’s, women’s and youth national teams for the next 5 years. Contract figures were not disclosed.
Thus, Zalando will receive three exclusive activation and marketing rights. The company logo will be present on all pre-match and training uniforms. In addition, there will be significant visibility on the LED scoreboards in the stadium, branding on the background billboards and a strong integrated social media presence.
Finally, Zalando will host a dedicated studio during training camps for all major tournaments, creating exclusive behind-the-scenes content for its customers.
Zalando is very happy with the partnership. James Rothwell, Senior Vice President of Marketing, states: “Football and fashion have a long history together and together play an important role in German culture. We are delighted to become a key partner of the DFB and write the next chapter in this story“.
