The Iohannis, summoned by Sibiu City Hall to pay their taxes. The two are on the list of arrears to the local budget

Klaus Iohannis and his wife, Carmen, appear in the public records of Sibiu City Hall with payment summons issued for arrears in local taxes.

According to the data published on the online platform of the Sibiu City Hall, the municipality drew up two separate summonses on October 10, 2025. One is issued exclusively in the name of Carmen Georgeta Iohannis, and the other is addressed to both spouses – Klaus Werner Iohannis and Carmen Georgeta Iohannis.

In the records of the local administration, the summons issued in the name of Carmen Iohannis bears the number 227306, with the enforceable title 227305. The one issued in the name of both spouses has the number 209857, with the enforceable title 209856.

The exact amount of the amounts owed and the precise nature of the tax obligations are not made public, they are protected by tax secrecy. From the available data, however, it appears that it is exclusively about arrears to the local budget of the municipality of Sibiu.

Payment orders are issued when natural or legal persons are late in paying local taxes and duties. Among the obligations concerned may be the tax on buildings, on land, on means of transport, as well as other administrative fees or fines applied by the Local Police.

According to the Fiscal Procedure Code, after the notification of the summons, the taxpayer has approximately 15 days to voluntarily pay the debt.

If the deadline is exceeded, the local authority can proceed to enforcement measures, such as seizures or seizures.

We recall that in October 2025 the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) put into foreclosure the property in Sibiu owned by former president Klaus Iohannis and his wife, Carmen Iohannis. The house will be auctioned and sold by the state to recover the sums owed, totaling 4.7 million lei, representing rents collected illegally and adjusted with legal interest.
