The mother of the 13-year-old child accused, together with two other older minors, of having killed Mario, the 15-year-old teenager from Cenei, described, for Antena 3 CNN, the shock and helplessness she says she has been experiencing since the revelations related to the crime.
The woman states that before the incident, she did not notice any change in her son’s behavior and that she did not know that he had used drugs.
“I can’t imagine what happened” she stated, claiming that the boy was a friend of the victim and that there was no sign that would lead her to believe that he might be involved in such a serious act.
“I fear the revolt of the people”
The mother of the 13-year-old boy says that the situation is all the more difficult since, being deprived of parental rights, she no longer has access to information about her child. The woman also says that, since the discovery of the crime, she has become the target of threats from some neighbors:
“I’m afraid of people’s revolt, because people jump on our heads, I have over 500 threats on the phone, they threaten us, we are terrorized by people. Wherever I go, I can’t find peace.”
In the interview with the cited source, the woman also confesses that she deeply regrets what happened and that she had full faith in her son.
Moreover, he states that he would have liked the boy to be able to answer criminally for the act of which he is accused, considering that this would have reduced the public tension reached in this case.
“I’m sorry for everything that happened. It’s not my fault, I’m really, really sorry, what happened shouldn’t have happened. It’s not my fault that there’s no law. I’m so sorry, I don’t know what else to say, I’m out of words”the woman said to the cited source.
“He was going where he was supposed to go, and there was no longer this revolt”
Asked if she thinks things would have been different if her son had been able to answer criminally, the mother of the child suspected of the crime answered
“I’m a mother too, I understand… we’re all parents. I’m a mother too. Maybe things would have been different, the child went where he should go and there was no longer maybe this revolt like this in the whole country, let everyone be on our heads.”
The case caused a wave of reactions at the national level, and the investigation continues to establish exactly the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred.
The crime in Cena terrified an entire country
The terrible crime that shook Timiș County happened on January 19, when Mario, a 15-year-old teenager, was drawn into a race by the 13-year-old boy under the pretext of presenting an ATV.
Arriving at his home, Mario was hit in the head with a hatchet, and another 15-year-old teenager stabbed him with a knife. Later, the two and another 15-year-old minor tried to set the body on fire and bury it in the garden of the house.
Mario’s parents reported their son missing the next day, and the teenager’s body was discovered about 24 hours later. The suspects admitted the facts, and the investigators determined that the murder was premeditated, the plan having been put in place a month before.
The two 15-year-old boys were remanded in custody.
