The activist Valeriu Nicolae offered explanations after the appearance of the AUR leader, George Simion, at the hotel in Timișoara where an important meeting of the Social Democratic Party was taking place. “I have no idea why George Simion came to Timișoara. He says he came for a baptism in Arad and that he flew the night before. I have no idea who Simion met with on the evening of Friday to Saturday in Timișoara. What I know for sure is that he came to the hotel where the PSD conference was held because my course was there. He said he was coming before he knew the location.” the activist explained in a post on Facebook.
He states that the AUR leader arrived at the course on Saturday morning and stayed there between 07:30 and 10:45, after which he left, most likely to Arad.
According to Valeriu Nicolae, Simion attended the course together with another AUR MP, taking advantage of a free invitation. The activist stated that he has had representatives from all political parties attend classes and that he is willing to offer the same opportunity to other leaders, including Nicușor Dan.
“It is not related to the PSD meeting”
Valeriu Nicolae rejected the idea of a link between Simion’s presence and the PSD meeting, stating that his event had been organized long before.
“Simion said he was coming before he knew the location (…) Here you have a picture to prove it. Fake news is fake news whether it comes from those you love or those you hate.” he also sent it.
The activist also provided details on the content of the course, noting that topics such as manipulation, body language and justice were discussed. In a group exercise, Simion allegedly participated in a debate about a possible anti-AUR campaign.

The presence of George Simion in the hotel where the PSD meeting was held sparked speculation, as the social democrats were discussing the political strategy and the possibility of withdrawing support for the government led by Ilie Bolojan.
The AUR leader denied any involvement in the PSD talks, saying he was there for a baptism. However, Simion did not mention anything about a possible course.
“I’m going to be a godfather at a baptism, that’s why I came, it was planned for about two months”, Simion told reporters yesterday.
