The supporters of the two finalists of the Romanian Football Cup came to Sibiu, the city that hosted the game that ended with the triumph of Olten, armored with pyrotechnic materials. First, they made a fuss in the middle of the night on Tuesday at the hotels where the rival delegations were staying, so that the players could not rest.
The Romanian Gendarmerie announced that it confiscated pyrotechnic materials that endangered the safety of the participants in the final:
“As a result of the football match dispute between the teams “U” Cluj and the University of Craiova, as part of the Final of the Romanian Cup, on May 13, this year, following the violation of the legal framework in force, 4 notification documents were drawn up regarding the regime of explosive materials, according to Law no. 126/1995 regarding the regime of explosive materials, 234 pyrotechnic materials being unavailable and handed over to the competent bodies.
Also, 83 contraventional sanctions were applied for acts that contravene Law no. 61/1991 for the sanctioning of acts of violation of some rules of social coexistence, public order and tranquility, Law no. 60/1991 regarding the organization and conduct of public meetings and Law no. 4 /2008 regarding the prevention and combating of violence during sports competitions and games, in the total amount of 22,400 lei, as well as 21 complementary sanctions forbidding access to sports games and competitions for a period of 6 months”.
We note that before the football match, following the checks carried out, the gendarmes discovered several pyrotechnic materials hidden in the stadium toilets“.
