PNL President, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Sunday, May 24, that the party must reorganize in the coming years, attract competent people and become a stronger party.
While at Vila Florica in Argeș, the historic mansion of the Brătianu family, Bolojan recounts that, at a service held at the Brătianu family church in Vila Florica, a woman discreetly told him the historic slogan of the liberals, “By ourselves.”
“That’s all he told me. I think this motto of the Bratians for the National Liberal Party is today more relevant than ever.
Being at a big meeting with the organization in Bucharest, I should thank you for proving that this motto is also valid in the elections for the General City Hall of the Capital.
When, by proposing the best candidate that our party could propose, the mayor who demonstrated in District 6 that the face of the sector can be changed, you campaigned and explained to the people of Bucharest that they deserve to vote for a mayor who I am convinced will do at least as good a job at the General City Hall.”
“In the next two years, we need to reorganize the party, to open it to valuable people”
He claims that, in the next two years, PNL must reorganize, be open “to the valuable people, to the people who work in this country”
“To be able to decisively influence what happens in the country, to be able to contribute to the modernization of Romania, you cannot do this with 15% in Parliament. We must understand this, especially if you have partners you cannot rely on, who do not respect their agreements and do not respect our country.
Our party has only one solution to be able to do what is needed for Romania and to be a decisive factor in the modernization of the country.
This means that, in the next two years, we need to reorganize the party, to open it to the valuable people, to the people who work in this country, who want an efficient state and institutions that are not administered like fiefdoms by those who lead them, but are put at the service of the citizens.”
Ilie Bolojan says that Romanians want a fair government, without privileges, that provides order, safety and development.
“People want a government where privileges are not tolerated, a government that does things fairly and creates conditions for development. And where there are liberals in office, it must be seen that there is good organization, order, safety in communities, respect for traditions and conditions for development.
This is what we must do in the coming years and I am convinced that by promoting performance, as our colleagues have done these days, by awarding prizes in Iași or Argeș, by welcoming people who are landmarks in their communities and bringing them into our party, using the experience gained in these years, we will be able to convince more Romanians that one of the important solutions for the modernization of Romania is the existence of strong and reliable parties”
