The absolute national champion of Romania was in 9th place in the general classification of the Rally Scandinavia before Sunday’s decisive tests, tied with the Canadian Brandon Samanuk. Both had a time of 45:27.5 after the first eight special events.

In Sunday’s decisive tests, the driver from Napoca Rally Academy maintained his steady pace and climbed up to 5th place with a time of 1:33:02.9, the best finish of his career on the gravel of the Scandinavian Rally. The final victory went to the Finnish Miko Heikkilä, timed with 1:31:07.8.

At the Swedish race, Tempestini, who drove a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 model, had his Napoca Rally Academy colleague Francesca Maior on the right, who usually co-drivers his older brother Norbert Maior.

Thanks to this result, Simone Tempestini climbed to 10th place in the general classification after the first two stages, with a total of 18 points. The first position is shared by the Spaniard Jose Antonio Suarez and the Finnish Miko Heikkilä, both having 30 points each.

The tricolor crew also contributed decisively to the victory of the MRF Tires team, which remains in first place in the general classification, with a total of 61 points. Since last season, Tempestini has been registered with MRF Tires in the FIA ​​ERC European Rally Championship.

The next challenge for Simone Tempestini will be domestically, in the National Rally Championship, at home, in Cluj, where she must consolidate her leading position in the general classification.
