After taking the Romanian language test on Tuesday, the 6th grade students will take part in the Mathematics test within the National Assessment on Wednesday, May 27, a stage included in the calendar approved by the Ministry of Education and Research for the current school year. The test is part of the series of standardized assessments organized at the national level and has the role of measuring the level of skills acquired by students during the years of study.

The exam is designed to evaluate both the knowledge gained in class and the practical skills developed by students, including items that monitor the level of functional literacy. In other words, the tests are designed to measure students’ ability to understand and apply information in concrete contexts, not just to mechanically reproduce theoretical notions.

For students who belong to national minorities, the assessment calendar provides for an additional test. On Thursday, they will take the test in the discipline “Language and communication – Mother tongue”.

Unlike the national exams at the end of the education cycles, the results obtained in the National Assessment from the 6th grade are not made public nor displayed in the educational units.

Also, scores or grades are not entered in the class catalog unless the parent or legal representative requests this in writing.

The time allotted for solving the tests is 60 minutes.

After the tests are completed, students and their families will receive information regarding the level of assessed skills and their developmental stage.

According to the Ministry of Education, the obtained results are also used for the development of individualized learning plans, intended to support the school progress of each student.
