The 2026 Champions League trophy went to PSG, who beat Arsenal in a dramatic penalty shoot-out. The final ended 1-1 after extra time, and the Parisians won 4-3 on penalties.
The final started in a spectacular atmosphere at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, and Arsenal entered with fresh strength. In the 6th minute, Kai Havertz took advantage of a favorable phase and opened the scoring with a strong shot.
After the goal, PSG took the initiative and tried to find the way to equalize. Fabian Ruiz and Kvaratskhelia had important opportunities, but Arsenal’s defense withstood the pressure. The Gunners remained dangerous on the counter-attack and were close to 2-0 before the break, but Havertz was blocked at the last minute by Marquinhos.

In the second half, PSG continued to press. Kvaratskhelia tried to surprise from a free kick and Vitinha threatened the goal of the Londoners with shots from distance. PSG were more dangerous and went very close to the winning goal in the 77th minute when Kvaratskhelia subtly beat the opposition defense but the ball was deflected and hit the bar. Late in the game, Vitinha missed the target and Arsenal struggled to resist.
Towards the end of the two halves, Dembele left the pitch injured, and in the last important phase Barcola only sent into the side netting from an excellent position. At the end of 90 minutes, the score remained 1-1, so the final went into extra time.
In extra time only PSG had the opportunity to increase the score. But Raya made an excellent save on Goncalo Ramos’ shot and blocked it in front, and the Parisians were unable to recover the ball. The grand champion was decided on penalty kicks.
