Important change at Dinamo. The club from Ștefan cel Mare announced the end of the collaboration with Zeljko Kopic, the technician who was on the team’s bench for the last 3 years.
The Croatian coach took over the Bucharest team at the beginning of December 2023, at a difficult time for the club. Under his command, Dinamo managed to avoid relegation in the first season, and subsequently made important steps in the fight to return to the forefront of Romanian football.
The results obtained brought him the appreciation of the fans, especially after the team’s qualification in the Super League play-off. In the recently concluded season, Dinamo occupied the 4th place in the ranking, accumulating 39 points.

Arriving at Dinamo in December 2023, at a critical moment for the club, Željko Kopić has worked non-stop to bring the team back to where it belongs. Together with his staff and the support of the club, he managed to keep Dinamo in the first football echelon. Next, he managed to bring Dinamo back, after a 7-year break, to the play-off of the Super League, and in the recently concluded season, the sporting progress was again visible through the semi-final of the Romanian Cup, access to the play-off and the ranking in 4th place of the national league. During the two and a half seasons, Željko Kopić collected an impressive number of 112 official games on the technical bench of the team, thus ranking in a select top of the longest serving coaches in the history of our club.
Today, our paths end up parting, both sides agreeing that a new challenge is needed. The Dinamo club sincerely thanks Mr. Kopić for all the work done on the club’s bench, for all the contribution brought to the return of Dinamo to the top of Romanian football, and we wish him continued success in his coaching career. “Dear Dinamo family, sometimes it is very difficult to put all the emotions into words. It has been two and a half years of life with such a big and historic club, with the Dinamo family. It has been an extraordinary journey, full of pure emotion, pride and fight for Dinamo. No limits, everything for the team.
For me it was much more than a job, more than hard work and a life lived on the edge. It was a connection with the spirit of Dinamo, a huge responsibility to build something for the present, but also for the future of the club. Something that would give Dinamo the opportunity to continue to grow and get to where it deserves to be, where we all want to see our club.
Now that the time has come for us to part, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish all players, staff, management, employees and supporters to stay united, fight with passion and write a beautiful new chapter in the history of Dinamo.
