MEP Vasile Dîncu believes that Alexandru Nazare could represent a compromise option for the position of prime ministerin the context of the negotiations for the formation of the new government. The social democrat sees such a formula possible only in an executive that includes the PSD.
In an intervention on Digi24, on Sunday, July 13, a day before the consultations convened by the president Nicușor Dan in Cotroceni, Vasile Dîncu spoke about the hypothesis of Alexandru Nazare prime minister.
“Mr. Nazare is not rejected by PSD or other parties, because he has one quality: he is a very good financial specialist”said the social democrat, adding that the former minister could manage Romania’s current economic challenges.
PSD rejects Siegfried Mureșan’s version
On the other hand, Vasile Dîncu ruled out the possibility of the liberal MEP Siegfried Mureșan being supported by the PSD for the position of prime minister.
According to the social-democratic leader, Muresan is “a rabbit taken out at interval” and does not have the necessary experience in domestic politics to lead the Government.
Dîncu argued that, after the period in which the Executive was led by representatives of the right, the position of prime minister should go to the PSD, the party that holds the largest parliamentary weight in the current coalition.
“It’s not a big loss for USR to go into opposition”
The MEP stated that restoring the majority without USR is a scenario that can be taken into account.
“It’s not a big loss for USR to go into opposition”stated Dîncu, arguing that the formation has a political profile oriented more towards the opposition, even when it is part of the power structures.
He argued that the parliamentary majority could be maintained even without USR’s participation in the government.
We remind you that, also on the eve of the Cotroceni consultations, Radu Miruță (USR), the interim Minister of Defense and Transport, explained to Euronews what is the solution proposed by the Save Romania Union to overcome the political crisis: a rotating government with PSD until 2028.
President Nicușor Dan will discuss Monday morning, July 13, with party leaders new solutions for unblocking the political crisis. The first option: a minority government led by Sorin Grindeanu for a period of one year, then a rotating one with a right-wing government. Second: a political government led by Alexandru Nazare. Three: a technocratic government also led by Nazare, claim political sources for Adevărul. The head of state would prefer the third solution, but everything depends on the PNL leader, Ilie Bolojan.
