Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez would take the big step this weekend, and the event could have a former Romanian international among the guests.
Marius Niculae would have been called to the wedding of the Portuguese star, according to a statement made by Mihai Stoichiță, who let it be understood that the former striker is among the invited people.
“I met Marius Niculae yesterday at the Federation, I don’t know if I invited him to the wedding. They are very good friends, I think he invited him. Marius tells me more when we meet!”, said Mihai Stoichiță, at digisport.ro.
The ceremony is announced by the international press to take place in Madeira, and Ronaldo, aged 41, and Georgina Rodriguez, aged 32, would unite their destinies.
Niculae’s invitation would have a simple explanation
The Romanian and Ronaldo have known each other for more than two decades. The two met at Sporting Lisbon, where Niculae arrived in 2001, right when Ronaldo was taking his first steps towards the big team. The relationship between the two was not limited to the locker room. At certain times, they were even roommates in team actions.
Among the memories revealed by the former striker is the fact that Ronaldo did not yet have a driving license. Niculae then helped him get home, a situation that shows how different the Portuguese’s life was before he became one of the most famous athletes on the planet.
