The singer Carmen Șerban went through moments of panic after arriving by car in the crater formed on Thursday on Bulevardul Eroilor in Bucharest. The artist told on social networks that she escaped unharmed, but the car was damaged and will need repairs.
The incident occurred after a portion of the roadway suddenly broke, forming a large pothole on one of the busiest arteries in the Capital.
“I fell into this pit…don’t ask me how I got out”
Carmen Șerban reported that she went through the crater with both wheels on the left side of the car and that, for a few moments, she thought that the car was destroyed.
“I fell into this pothole…don’t ask me how I got out I don’t know. I turned around to film the pothole…after I went through it. I went with both wheels on the left side of it and I thought my car had crashed. I stepped on the left wheels of the car…the car fell and I was out in a second…take the bad left, now.
I have to take it in for service. Luckily I’m fine and I’m going to a mechanic tonight to check the car underneath. I was very scared but I thank God that’s all”, wrote the artist in a post published on Facebook.
The incident occurred a few hundred meters from the Cotroceni Palace.
How the crater appeared
The breakdown of the road occurred on Thursday afternoon, on Bulevardul Eroilor in Bucharest, where the asphalt suddenly collapsed, leaving behind a deep crater.
The authorities intervened at the scene, and requested checks from the Apa Nova company to establish the cause of the surprise. Traffic in the area was restricted for the work to be carried out.
The City Hall of the Capital announced that the interventions to remedy the situation were to be completed by the morning of the next day.
Fortunately, in the case of the artist, there were no victims, but the car suffered breakdowns, and she announced that she would take it to the service for checks.
