Dumitru Macri died at the age of 92, according to vișiniu.ro. He was the last survivor of the Rapid team from the 1950s and was based in Paris.

Macri won the Balkan Cup with Rapid in 1964. He was the first Romanian footballer nominated for the Golden Ball, in 1961! The list included, among others, Yashin, Puskas, Di Stefano, Charlton and Eusebio.
Dumitru Macri had 10 selections in the national team. He was second coach of Rapid, of the Romanian U20 national team, with whom he participated in the famous 1981 edition, when the generation “kangaroos” took the bronze, but it was also “main” of the Algerian national team.
As a coach, Dumitru Macri trained CFR Timișoara, Rapid Bucharest, the Algerian national team and Olt Scornicesti. “Take” left Romania in 1986 and settled in Paris with his son. He died last year, of cancer, at the age of 67, and Dumitru Macri.
Dumitru Take Macri was present at the inauguration of the new Giulești stadium, in March 2022, when he was 90 years old.
