Ganea explains what happened to him before the friendly with Northern Ireland: “I know the world is going to drive me crazy…”

Ionel Ganea (50 years old) should have seen the friendly Romania – Northern Ireland (1-1), but his presence at the National Arena turned into an explosive news that “shady“the start of the game. Because, instead of reaching the stands, the former international was taken to the police station!

Ionel Ganea

Ganea returned to the stadium and was able to see the second part of the match, but yesterday he found out his punishment, as Adevărul wrote here. It's just that Ganea does not accept the Police's version. In dialogue with journalist Cătălin Mureşanu from prosport.ro, the former great footballer, known as a choleric guy, told what happened to him.

What did Ionel Ganea say?

*I tell you from the start that I have reflected on everything that happened and I consider myself innocent. I know, people say that Ganea is crazy, but every time I did something, I admitted my fault. This time I don't have it and I'm going to fight to prove the abuse I've been subjected to. Before entering I was asked by an orderly to show my parking ticket, as I presented this ticket the policeman repeatedly shouted: “step on the brakes, step on the brakes!“. For no reason, because the car was parked, and I had no way to show that ticket on the go. I specify that during this interval I did not hear the police's audible warnings, I did not have the music on in the car, and for that reason I believe that no audible warnings were given.

*I asked him to speak, to address himself nicely, and because of this I think he felt offended. He told me to pull the car to the right, because he's taking my license! I must state that he did not introduce himself, he did not politely ask for my documents – he was shouting and very agitated and kept telling me that he was taking my license! I was not alone in the car, there were also my wife and her uncle – both can confirm this. Moreover, the child started to cry, he was very scared, and this detail didn't matter to them either.

*I asked him why he wanted to take my license, because I did nothing wrong, but he kept repeating that he was taking my license.

*Then I continued the journey! We stopped for the car inspection and headed to the underground car park! After that we saw what happened! They took me out of the car and took my keys, even though my car was blocking the entrance to the underground car park. And I want to clarify another piece of information that appeared in the press, like I didn't have a parking ticket, I did and I'm presenting it to you.

*I believe that Commissioner Pintianu and Mr. Ciochina wanted to stand out and abused their job! That's why I'm going to go to court. I also want to say that I have read their statement and I believe that it is not in accordance with reality. Such behavior of a policeman wearing the coat of the Romanian state is unacceptable, Minister Predoiu cannot accept such people, if he does not shed light on this case, he should resign. It's a very serious offense on their part, I didn't kill anyone, I was calm, civilized and I repeat, every time, if I was wrong, I admitted it, now I'm not guilty at all.
