The candidate for Constanța City Hall, Ovidiu Cupșa, stated that those who have depression did not take “enough beatings when they were small”. The Alliance for the Union of Romanians also announced its candidate for the head of the Constanţa County Council.

Ovidiu Cupșa, candidate of the AUR formation for Constanța City Hall, stated in a video posted on Facebook, that someone suffering from depression “didn't take enough beatings when he was young”, according to HotNews.
“Sir, if you are depressed, the town hall must come and give you some money to stop being depressed. You didn't get spanked enough when you were little if… you know that in my day depression was treated with spanking. Now, that's it, everyone is depressed, young people are depressed and “what are you doing?”, “I'm depressed sir… let the town hall give me some money because I'm depressed”. It was a project for that, don't laugh”, said Ovidiu Cupșa in a video published on Facebook.
The Alliance for the Union of Romanians also announced its candidate for the head of the Constanta County Council, being appointed to businessman Mohammad Murad.
“It's time to thank a great man for Romania, today, our regional coordinator and president of AUR businessmen, Mr. Mohammad Murad, (…) I thank him because, although born elsewhere, he is a Romanian patriot, proven by facts. (…) For the last 30 years, we lived in darkness and mold at the Amphitheater – Panoramic – Belvedere complex, and our brother Mohamad turned it into GOLD, restored its former shine. (…) If Mohammad did for his own family, for the community and for his own business, maybe for the Constanta community. AUR's proposal for the presidency of the Constanta County Council is Mr. Mohammad Murad. We have an enormous chance this year and we must take advantage of it because we don't have another, it's now or never. (…) Please, Mohammad, that from Corbu to Limanu you restore the brilliance of the Romanian coast”said George Simion.
In 2020, Mohammad Murad was an independent candidate, supported by PSD, for the position of mayor of Mangalia.
Tensions in AUR Mehedinti
The alliance also announced the exclusion from the party of the deputy Cornel Folescu, who assumed the role of coordinator in Mehedinți county of the campaign for the European Parliament.
The reason cited by the AUR leadership is represented by the parliamentarian's very poor results during the period in which he assumed the role of campaign coordinator for the European parliamentary elections in Mehedinți county, as well as his lack of involvement in the party's county branch, according to Actual Mehedints.
Deputy Cornel Vasile Folescu, elected to Parliament on the PSD lists, announced in February his resignation from the social-democratic formation group and his entry into the AUR parliamentary group.
Cornel Folescu is in his first term as a parliamentarian.
