The simple motion submitted by 54 deputies of USR and Forța Dreptei was rejected with 77 votes “for”, 149 votes “against” and 7 abstentions. Another 10 deputies did not vote.
During Monday's debates, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin Barbu, claimed, according to Agerpres, that the simple motion submitted by USR and Forța Dreptei deputies is “non-serious”, categorizing it as a series of “slanders, propaganda and many untruths “.
Barbu asked those who initiated the motion to explain to the people of Delta why they cannot receive a subsidy from the EU, although farmers from other states benefit from such subsidies, stressing that companies that do not meet the legal conditions do not receive European money , referring to the subsidies for reeds in the Danube Delta.
Criticism of the Opposition
The acid criticism during Monday's debates also came from the UDMR, the Union deputy, Konczei Csaba, argued that the Ministry of Agriculture is not able to hold the reins of the institutional mechanisms.
The head of AUR, George Simion, stated that Florin Barbu has no qualifications to be the Minister of Agriculture.
On the other side, USR MP Diana Buzoianu accused that Florin Barbu was appointed by the PSD as Minister of Agriculture “to help the Paul Stanescu family“.
