More than half of the hotel locations out of the almost 500 on the coast will be open from May 1, to which thousands of holiday apartments will be added, says the general secretary of the Federation of Romanian Hospitality Industry Employers (FPIOR), Corina Martin.

“More than 250 hotel locations out of the nearly 500 on the coast will be open from May 1 and many thousands more apartments holidays available for those who want to choose the Romanian coast during the mini-vacation that will be extended with the Easter Holidays (…). We open in force with SUNWAVES, the electronic music festival that attracts several thousand tourists every year, 80% of whom are foreign tourists! We are holding a new edition of the 'Festival du Bonheur' – the already well-known gastronomic celebration in Mamaia and we continue with dozens of events and concerts in clubs, restaurants, Piaţeta Casino Mamaia and Piața Ovidiu Constanţa, but also at Vama Veche – the resort that has 90 % degree of occupancy at this time“, said Corina Martin, in a statement sent to Agerpres on Sunday.
According to her, the reservations continue and will place Mamaia, Vama Veche and Eforie in the top 3 resorts.
“We hope to attract over 80,000 tourists on May 1 to the sea, but also on Easter, when many Romanians choose to take 'Light from the seaside'”, added the FPIOR official.
For his part, Daniel Iluşcă, the president of the Tulcea – Danube Delta Employers' Association, announced that preparations for the new season have begun in the Danube Delta, and accommodation rates start from 200 lei and go up to 1,500 lei, depending on the services requested of tourists.
“We, in the Danube Delta, have already started preparations for the new season. We have a lot to offer and I think this year will be good, because we have many reservations. Many tourist ports have been built and launched in Tulcea county, we organize a lot of events, and the packages in the delta include all the services, so that tourists can benefit from all the facilities.The accommodation rates are from 200 lei to 1,000 – 1,500 lei, depending services desired by tourists“, said Iluşcă.
