Regarding the attacks by the PSD members against him, Geoană says that they are triggered by the polls that give him the favorite to win the presidency. “My possible candidacy may create a bit of excitement, of fibrillation in the system, which is not a bad thing”said Geoana.

Geoană says about PSD's attacks on him: “Probably the polls are bugging them or they have other calculations that I don't know about. I don't want to get into any controversy, I have a job to do, I want to finish it under the same conditions as in the last five years. And Romanian politics will follow its outcome”.

Mircea Geoana also added that he believes that politicians are afraid of contact with citizens and that he is dissatisfied with discussions about solutions or ideology or the role in the European Union.

According to him, there is a low interest in the people who represent us, how credible they are. Geoana believes that Romania is near the end of a political cycle and a deep change is needed to move forward.

An important element that the former presidential candidate wanted to specify is the macroeconomic state, inflation and the interests of citizens that seem to be ignored by politicians.

Geoana believes that Romania has a major strategic importance, it has an important influence at the international level, but that it is necessary to strengthen the national economy in order to enjoy a better position.
