Craiova University defeated FCSB with a score of 2-0 (1-0), on Monday evening, at home, in the eighth stage of the play-off phase of the Football Super League, after the red-blues won the title in last round.

The university, which is fighting for the second place, opened the scoring quickly, through the Brazilian defender Raul Silva (4), who shot from the small box, after Jovan Markovic had sent the ball into the bar, at a corner.
The university had the ball for a short time, but showed pragmatism, scoring the second goal in the minute. 71, through Andrei Ivan, who resumed in the net the cross of Ştefan Vlădoiu, introduced on the field in min. 60.
FCSB had the chance to restart the game, but Darius Olaru missed a penalty (77 – bar), also obtained by him, after a duel with Lyes Houri. The penalty kick was awarded by referee Rareş George Vidican after watching the video replays. The new champion had three great opportunities to score, but Octavian Popescu sent an inaccurate spot, past the empty goal (55), the goalkeeper Laurenţiu Popescu saved Olaru's shot (63), the same Laurenţiu Popescu stopping the corner shot twice of Alexandru Băluţă (86).
The hosts could, however, win even more clearly, but Joyskim Dawa rejected Alexandru Mitriţă's shot from the goal line (89), after he had also dribbled the goalkeeper Ştefan Târnovanu, and Andrei Ivan and debutant Ştefan Bană (90+5) they didn't manage to score against an outnumbered counterattack.
For FCSB, which was without several starters, it was the first failure suffered in the play-offs, while the University obtained a victory after two consecutive failures at home. Since December 2, in the 18th stage of the regular season (1-0 with CFR Cluj, in Bănie), the University had not had a match in which it did not concede a goal in the championship. The University obtained its first victory this season in the duels with FCSB, after losing both matches in the regular season with 0-3 and in the play-off round with 0-2.
