According to G4Media, Nicolae Ciucă, dozens of huge billboards with the PNL president are placed on the side of highways all over the country.
Video clips promoting the former prime minister are promoted on the party's social media pages.
PNL first vice-president Rareş Bogdan declared in a show on Digi24 that the only candidate the liberals support is Nicolae Ciucă.
“We believe in Mr. General Ciucă's chance”, emphasized the liberal leader, claiming that Ciucă will be “an extremely balanced and extremely necessary president for Europe, for Romania”.
Liberal Alina Gorghiu said last year that she hopes that the PNL leader will run for the presidency of Romania and win the 2024 elections.
Asked in the past about a candidacy for the presidential elections, Nicolae Ciucă stated that, “if the party will request this, the party is sovereign in such situations” and will “proceed as such”.
