Humanitas publishing house invites you on Thursday, May 9, from 7:00 p.m., at the Humanitas Bookstore in Cișmigiu, to the launch of the volume Delicious story of the Romanian cozonacthe new book by Tatiana Niculescu, the writer who imposed the genre of biography in contemporary Romanian literature.

The event will be attended by Tatiana Niculescu, historian Alina Pavelescu, philologist Cristina Cioabă and writer Vlad Stroescu. Access is free, subject to availability, based on a reservation through Eventbook. The book can be found in bookstores throughout the country, but also on the website libhumanitas.ro

Passed through numerous avatars – sweetened bread, leavened ritual bread, noble dough prepared according to foreign recipes for Easter and Christmas, sophisticated family cake, ethnic specialty, national symbol – the cozonac is linked to events, people, places and events that marked generations of Romanians. The delight of this book is in the combination of the grace of the story and the richness of the documentation. Attracted by the scent of the past from memoirs, diaries, literary works, and made to think by questions, hypotheses and etymologies, the reader is carried on a passionate search for the joy of creating, from the faces of the cozonac, a personal or collective home.
