Sepsi win at home. Rapid remains winless in the play-offs

Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe defeated Rapid Bucharest with a score of 3-2 (3-1), on Friday evening, at home, in a match from the 9th stage of the play-off phase of the Superleague football.

Rapid opened the scoring through Claudiu Petrila (17), after a counterattack, but the hosts scored three times in the first half. The Croatian striker Gabriel Debeljuh scored a double (21, 39), and the North Macedonian Isnik Alimi scored just before the break (45+1).

The guests had a penalty, awarded for a handball by Denis Renta, but Kosovar Albion Rrahmani missed, his modest shot being defended by goalkeeper Roland Niczuly (54). It is for the second consecutive stage when Rrahmani misses a penalty, after he also did it against CFR Cluj (2-3).

Finally, Rapid managed to score once more, through the Serbian Borisav Burmaz (63).

Sepsi OSK scored once more, through the Croatian Adnan Aganovic (90+4), but his success was canceled by VAR for a foul committed by Florin Ştefan on Răzvan Onea.

Rapid remains without a win in the play-off and will finish in last place (six). Sepsi OSK ticked off its third victory in the play-off.

In the regular season, both direct matches were equal (0-0), and in the play-off, Sepsi prevailed 1-0 in Bucharest and 3-2 at home.
